“We changed to SC Education at the beginning of the year after consulting local schools and hearing of the quality service they offer.  Our main reason for change was that we wished to have a coach to stay with us all year, someone who was seen as a member of staff despite only teaching one and a half days a week.  SC Education understood what we wanted and visited our school to offer taster sessions which reassured us we were making the right decision.

The coach provided has become a popular member of staff who fits so well into our school.  They have made a massive impact on the children’s attitude to sport, are very approachable and will cope with any problems caused by school life (timetable changes, book fairs etc) with a smile, even lending a helping hand.  They run a wake up/shake up session each morning and recently ran a session for all children, staff and parents for Comic Relief.

SC Education also now manage a Holiday Club which is the first time the School have provided this service and due to it’s popularity will now be on-going.  This is testament to them and the faith we have in the service they provide.  Regular planning is provided to teachers to support lessons and pupils are assessed each half term and at the end of the academic year.  Not only this but SC Education’s staff our quality assured by their own senior management to ensure the level of teaching matches the expectations of the school and feedback from these observations are provided.

“At Higher Lane we use the services of SC Education for all of our PE.  It provides excellent provision for all children throughout the school.  The sports coach provides weekly sessions for all children which are planned to meet curriculum guidelines and are also developmental as they are based on individual pupil’s assessments and needs.  As a result the children not only make excellent progress in all aspects of PE but thoroughly engage and enjoy.

We also use the coach to provide extra curricular activities both at lunchtimes and After School which provide many sporting opportunities for our children.  The coach arranges inter school matches at friendly and league levels.

—SC Education have been actively involved in the delivery of the PE Curriculum at Eccleston St. Marys for the last two years. They worked successfully across EYFS, KS1 AND KS2 delivering fundamental movement skills and then sport specific skills. They plan and assesses lessons in line with our school plans and liaises frequently with staff and the PE Co-ordinator.

—Their team have also coached our Girls Football team and have taken intervention sessions with a group of Year 3 pupils who need basic skills reinforcement.  They are considered as one of our staff at St. Mary’s. Their staff have a professional and approachable attitude and they are making a valuable contribution to the teaching and delivery of PE across school.
